What makes Fred Astaire in Denver different?

Most businesses claim to be better than the competition. We really are. Here’s why:

The Fred Astaire System.

The Fred Astaire System Over the last sixty years our company has developed the most effective dance training system in the world – the Conceptual Method of Teaching. Our staff is thoroughly trained in this method and as a result our students learn faster, progress more quickly, and have more fun. It’s essentially the method employed to teach contestants on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”. It works for the celebrities, and it will work for you!

Full Time, Professional Instructors

Our instructors are all full time pros who have been rigorously screened for their teaching ability and then trained to the highest standards of dance instruction. They aren’t moonlighting after a day job or “hobby” dancers looking for some extra money. Your success as a dance student is their sole focus. We start each day off with a staff meeting to discuss student lessons, goals, and events. The entire studio is dedicated to your success.

Training, Training, Training

It’s not enough to have the best instructors and the most proven system. Each of our staff receives up to five hours of training every week, and attends monthly meetings conducted by the top trainers in the area. In addition, they participate in quarterly meetings with the nation’s top coaches, and our advanced instructors attend national seminars annually. It all adds up to the most cohesive, successful system of dance instruction in the world.

Enriching Lives while Teaching Dance

The Fred Astaire mission statement is to enrich the lives of everyone associated with our company. Our teachers understand that adults (unlike children) come with emotional baggage and mental barriers. Dance is a unique activity that allows people to break through barriers, achieve goals, and enhance confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

It’s all About Teaching

Teaching and dancing are different skills. While we hire extremely accomplished dancers, we recognize that the best dancers do not automatically make the best instructors. Some studios tout their “championship” dance pedigree, as if that alone makes a teacher qualified. Not only do we employ many dance champions, but all of our staff is trained in dancing and teaching separately, as they are two different skills. We are here to show you how well you can dance, not to prove how well we can dance!

Focusing on Dance, not Competition

We regularly train successful dance competitors, but unlike some studios we are not solely focused on students who intend to compete. These “competition” schools revolve around getting as many students as possible to participate in any dance competition. They stake their reputation on the number of dance entries that their studio can produce, often at the expense of those students who don’t wish to become competitive dancers. Our focus is on the student, and choosing the most appropriate plan for each individual to improve their dancing skills, not gathering meaningless accolades for our studio.

Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery

Because of our unique and effective system of teaching, we are often imitated by other dance studios. They try to copy the structure of our lessons, recreate our marketing materials and even try to mimic the look of our studio. However, what can’t be copied is the legacy of excellence set by our company founder Mr. Fred Astaire, combined with over 60 years of continuous refinement of teaching methods, and a dedicated full time staff trained to make you the best, most confident dancer that you can be.

Private Dance Lessons

Private Dance Lessons are the easiest and fastest way to become a good social dancer. Your dance instructor will provide you with the personalized attention you need to achieve your goal in dancing.

No two people learn the same way or at the same rate. Private dance classes offer much more gain in a comparable period of time than any other type of lesson. The general rule is that you will receive as much from one hour of private dance classes as three to four hours of any other type.

Group Dance Lessons

Group classes are an important addendum to your private instruction. They range generally anywhere from 8 to 15 students. They give you opportunity to dance with a variety of partners, and a chance to meet your fellow students from the studio... Group dance classes are a good way to learn new dance steps that you can take to your private dance lessons for your dance instructor to touch up on

Practice Lessons

Dance Parties are as important as dance lessons in the learning process. The dance parties give you a wonderful opportunity to practice what you have learned in your private lessons with various partners, professional dance instructors, other students and guests. Dancing in this relaxed environment eases any stress of dancing in front of other people and builds confidence for all of your future dancing. This is also a great way to meet new friends.
